It is widely recognised that society is being transformed by innovations in science and technology and it seems certain that this trend will continue for the foreseeable future. Globalisation brought about through the ongoing revolution in digital technology is having a major impact on all aspects of modern life, including the way we live, work and play. This is particularly relevant in the area of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics).
At Boulder Primary School, we embrace STEM and it’s emphasis on creative and critical thinking. Our teachers have been upskilling themselves, and this has seen the introduction of the STEM funnel into classrooms. Our Kids Expo in Term 4 is an opportunity for students to demonstrate their knowledge in this area. Classes set up stalls and sell their goods and services to the community. All money raised is donated to a charity of the students’ choice.
